Late XVI th Century, Genoese School, Italy.
Large oil on canvas paiting that represents two sujects : the Pandora’s box and Sodoma and Gomorra . The characters are separated by architectural columns, on the background the town is burning. The female nudes in the foreground have a bright and elegant complexion that contrasts with the brown colours of the city .
The author of the painting is influenced by the Genoese Luca Cambiaso (1527- 1579) who worked in Genoa then in Rome.
Good conservation. Lacquered frame.
