The author belongs to the School of Bibbiena whose founder was the architect Ferdinando Galli Bibbiena (Bologna 1657-1743), who was an Italian architect, set designer and artist belonging to the homonymous family.
Professor Arabella Cifani’s expertise attributes the pair of paintings to a follower of Pietro Poltronieri ( Mirandola 1673-Bologna 1741), comparing them with the ruins of the Mirandolese today at the Pinacoteca Civica in Bagnocavallo
